Pelican Clip - Nylon Cord with Blood Knot

135.00

This piece can be worn as a bracelet or necklace. The closure is loosely based on the pelican clips found on sailboats.

The cord is dyed and waxed in house, and finished with a blood knot.  It is very stiff, but can be easily bent to shape & will hold said shape.  It is not everyone's cup of tea.

Bronze, Silver, Nylon

Usually ships within two weeks

This piece can be worn as a bracelet, necklace, or choker.  If you plan on wearing it as a bracelet select the size which is closest to the circumference of your wrist or larger.  The nylon cord stretches very little but does become more supple with wear.

I made the original prototype for this clip from brass, using fabrication and carving techniques.  A rubber mold was made from that prototype.  The clip is lost wax cast in the USA and hand finished in-house.

This cord option is very stiff.  It is easy to bend though, and will hold the shape it is bent to.  I reccomend taking your time putting it on for the first time, getting it so it lies just how you want it, then leaving it on pretty much forever.  The cord starts out as marine grade heading twine, which I dye and wax in house.  I tie the ends together with a blood knot to create a permanent loop.    The piece is very secure, very strong, and very comfortable.  Like most of my pieces, it can be worn in water without fear of damage.

A nice fancy way to wear it as a bracelet....
